Sheet and Foam Profile
The AET's "Advantage Series" line of foam extruders (see
picture below), available in all standard sizes, can be supplied in a long
L/D single or two-unit tandem configuration. They can run pre-foamed pellets
or have gas injected directly into the molten plastic through an injection
port toward the discharge end of the barrel. If supplied as a tandem system
the secondary cooling extruder is equipped with a “leak free” screw seal
and a special cooling system with oversized cooling coils for maximum cooling
efficiency. The feed screw is also designed with multi flighted cooling
sections or complete cooling screws (when supplied as a tandem system)
to produce the foaming stability required before the extrudate exits the
die (see picture below).
